What the notice means
The line “You cannot request another review of this decision” appears on a disabled account after Instagram has looked at it again. Usually it sits under a sentence such as “We’ve reviewed your account and found that it still doesn’t follow our Community Standards”, followed by the rule it is supposed to have broken.
Two things are now true:
- the decision has been reviewed once already, most often after your own appeal or identity check,
- the in-app appeal is closed. There is no “disagree with decision” button any more, and pressing around the Help Centre will not bring it back.
Many people only find out how this works at this point, because they sent their first appeal quickly, hoping to fix things in a minute.
How fast it happens
People expect a review to take days. In practice it often takes minutes. In one case we handled, the owner sent an appeal at 16:06 and saw the permanent decision at 16:19. In another, a business account was disabled for “fraud and deception”, and by the time the owner came to us the screen already said “You cannot request another review”. A previous helper had given up at that point.
That speed tells you something: the second look is usually automated as well. An appeal written in anger, or sent “just to see what happens”, is often the only one you get.
What it closes, and what it does not
It closes the self-service route. The same app screens, the same forms and new appeals from the same account will meet the same decision.
It does not close the question of whether the decision was right. Platform decisions can still be challenged outside the app, and whether that is worth doing depends on:
- the reason given. A ban caused by an error, a hacked account or false reports is a different case from a real, serious violation,
- who is behind the account. A real person or company with years of history and photos of themselves has arguments a throwaway profile does not,
- evidence. Every notice with its date, every email, and a clear account of what happened before the ban.
Being honest about it: cases at this stage take longer, and not all of them end with the account coming back.
What to do straight away
- Screenshot the full screen, scrolling to the bottom, with the date visible. This is the most important document in your case.
- Collect the earlier notices and any emails from Instagram. Search your inbox and spam folder for “Instagram”.
- Download your information if the screen allows it.
- Note which other accounts were affected: Facebook, a business page, an ad account, other profiles on the same phone.
- Stop sending forms. More submissions through different routes do not reopen anything and make the record harder to follow.
What not to do
- Do not open replacement accounts on the same phone, number or email. After a reviewed decision they are often disabled within days. In one business case, every new account the company opened after the main profile was disabled was banned almost immediately.
- Do not pay strangers who message you first. “Unban in 24 hours”, “my contact at Meta” and requests for your password or a login code are the classic signs of a scam.
- Do not use anyone else’s identity to pass a check. It ends the case for good.
When the account matters
If this is a business account, a creator account that earns money, or simply years of your life, read our page on an Instagram account disabled without a clear reason. We start with a free assessment and tell you plainly whether we see a realistic route before any contract.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the appeal form in the Help Centre instead?
You can try, but with this notice the forms usually lead back to the same closed decision or get no answer. Sending several forms through different paths does not reopen the review.
How long do I have before the account is deleted?
The notice says your information will be deleted later, without a precise date you can rely on. Download your information now if the screen offers it.
Why did the review happen so fast?
The second review is often automated, like the first decision. That is why the answer can arrive within minutes of your appeal.
Can a business account still be recovered after this?
Sometimes. Business accounts have more evidence to work with, such as company records, ad history and a team behind them. It is slower and not guaranteed.
